Born and raised in Fairview, she has always been at home in the Peace Country. Kristi has committed her life to serving the community and raising her family. Starting off as a hair salon owner for over 10 years, her fondest memories was the time spent with her clients in long-term care, and lodges. Kristi always had an interest in funeral services, and it was reawakened in 2013 with the passing away of Kristi’s most treasured friend, her Grandmother. She closed her salon and had the opportunity to focus on her family for a while before pursuing a career as a funeral director. Kristi and her partner Chris have four busy boys who have a love for playing hockey and the outdoors. They spend many hours together pursuing some of the favourite pastimes of the Peace Country. Kristi is passionate about community- and family- centered care. She takes pride in making sure the needs of each family are met with the highest standard of care.
Owner & Monument and Specialist
Kolton has been with the
Funeral Home since 2017. Also becoming owner along side his sister Kristi
in 2020. He is our monument specialist from designing, to installation, and
restoration. Kolton can also be found behind our laser engraver creating
personalized pieces for families with endless options. Kolton
does everything with the utmost care and impeccable
attention to detail.
In his spare time, he enjoys
going to the gym, restoring vehicles, woodworking, and riding his motorbike
around the Peace Country.
Funeral Director & Embalmer
Born and raised in Grande Prairie, Doug has committed his life to working in and owning local businesses as he and his wife Eunice raised their family. Doug worked in the printing industry for a number of years before owning and operating his own service businesses. With his gentle manner and family-centered approach, Doug has developed excellent and trusting relationships within our community. In 2012, Doug decided to use his talents to make a positive and lasting impact on grieving families and he and Eunice established Bear Creek Funeral Home.

Doug is dedicated to providing families with options that suit their needs while honouring the life of their loved one in a unique and meaningful way.
Funeral Director & Embalmer Apprentice
Shauna Welander was born in Fort McMurray, raised in the Hines Creek and Fairview area. She has spent a lot of her time working with children at daycares and currently as an Educational Assistant. Shauna's kind heart and compassionate nature is strongly felt while assisting at the funeral home with families putting them at ease. Spending time with her family is what she loves most, along with camping, fishing and quading.
Funeral Director & Embalmer
Kaley was born and raised in Northern Alberta. She spent the first 25 years of her life in Valleyview before making Peace River her permanent home. Kaley has been serving families since 2014. She is mostly found behind the scenes as our embalmer caring for our families loved one, getting them ready for viewing, and funeral service. Kaley shows the highest standard of care assisting families in such times of need. She has a true love and dedication sharing the importance of the traditional care of a loved one.
Kaley lives on a small acreage with her three children Gavin, Olivia and Colin. In her spare time
you will find her raising chickens, gardening and spending
time with her extended family.
Funeral Director Apprentice/Grief Support Facilitator
Brieanna was born and raised in a small farming community South West of Edmonton, known as Warburg. This lead to her pursuit in the Agriculture Industry, ultimately bringing her to the community of Fairview just over 3 years ago. After Her uncles sudden passing in 2020, Brieanna quickly realized her passion for helping others and wanted to make a difference within the community. Wanting to change the narrative regarding end of life and discussions that follow, she completed her End of Life Care Doula course through Douglas College December of 2021. Brieanna is currently taking Funeral Directing with Mount Royal University. In her free time, she loves to read and learn - often attending classes and workshops to expand her knowledge. Brieanna is educated with Mental Health First Aid and is a QPR Gatekeeper (Suicide Prevention). Brieanna will be facilitating the Peace Care Grief Group, along with assisting with other areas of Peace Valley Funeral Home.
Funeral Celebrant
Eunice retired from a 25-year nursing career to serve families together with Doug since 2012. Over the years her warm and caring spirit and natural way of connecting with people have made her a popular choice of Funeral Celebrant for families.

Tim was born in Saskatchewan and lived in many
communities growing up.
He observed
firsthand a family loss in his teens, and it started his interest in funeral
care. At the age of 29 Tim entered funeral care and was fully
licensed in 2004 as a Funeral Director and as an Embalmer in 2005. Since that time, he has served hundreds of families and never found a more satisfying and
rewarding career helping others through the steps of loss and grief.
As an
embalmer he is committed to providing a meaningful presentation to our families
we serve as they say goodbye to their loved ones.
As a Funeral Director Tim is committed to providing compassionate care. He is dedicated to serving our community, families, crafting a meaningful and caring service for your loved one.
Tim has also acted as a Funeral Service Celebrant, grief support group coordinator, and always willing assist you through
every part of the grieving process.
