Agnes Sydorko Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our dear mother, wife and grandmother on December 20, 2020.

Agnes was born on March 4, 1938 at Last Lake, Alberta and was a lifelong resident of the Whitelaw/Fairview area. She married Fred Sydorko on January 26, 1956 and together they raised five children.  Working in the cafeteria at the Fairview College brought her many years of laughter and fun. Agnes loved her flowers and gardening. She could grow a garden like no other. Playing cards, along with singing and dancing were some of her passions. After retirement she joined the CWL in Fairview.  She enjoyed baking and no one ever left her house hungry.  Agnes never missed a birthday or anniversary.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother and a cherished friend to many others who were lucky enough to have known her.

Left to mourn her passing is her beloved husband, Fred of 64 years, daughters Linda (Larry) Biegel, Sharon (Dave) Simpson, Janet (Deryl) Gray, son Kevin (Judi) Sydorko and seven grandchildren, Shay, Taylor, Rylan, Brooke, Brendan, Carter and Curtis.  She is also survived by her sister Beatrice and brother Bill. Agnes was predeceased by her daughter Debbie, her parents, Joe and Mary Wald and her sisters, Edith, Lucy, Elsie, Burnetta and brother Gabe.

The family would like to express their sincere thanks to Dr. Irvine and the nursing staff at Fairview Continuing Care for their dedication in caring for our loved one.

Due to present circumstances, a private family gathering, and Celebration of Life will follow at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Fairview Continuing Care Bag 2201, 10628 110 St.  Fairview, Alberta. T0H 1L0 or the Alzheimer Society of Alberta 10430 61 Ave NW #306, Edmonton, AB T6H 2J3, https://alzheimer.ca/ab/en/take-action/donate .
