It is with heavy hearts that we announce the loss of our beautiful mother, Annette Madden, who passed away on May 1, 2026, at the age of 73.
Annette was predeceased by her parents, Leo and May Morissette, dear friends Bob Madden and Bob Berlinguette, as well as her infant siblings, Joe and Cathy.
She is lovingly remembered by her siblings: Marlene Dumont (predeceased by Romeo), Cathy Madden (predeceased by Jim), Marie Halter (Ed), Joe Morissette, Albert Morissette, and Roger (Shannon) Morissette. She will be forever cherished by her children: Shelly Honing (Dennis), Cheryl Biegel (Mike), and Earl Madden (Jen).
Annette was a proud grandmother to Amanda Morrison (Arley), Winston Schwerdt (Ally), Kristen Simpson (Wyatt), Lane Schwerdt, Jamee Bieleski (Dakota), Ella Madden, Jordan Biegel, Blayne Biegel (Talease), Presley Biegel (Mitchel), and Tanner Biegel (Keenan). As well as many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Annette spent her early childhood in the Whitemud Creek area and attended school in Legal, Alberta. At the age of 17, she moved to Edmonton with her sister Marie, where she attended cosmetology school. It was there that she began building her future before welcoming her daughters, Shelly and Cheryl. She later spent a short time in Fairview, where Earl was born.
Annette spent most of her life in Grande Prairie, where she built a career as a hairstylist. Through her work, she formed many lasting friendships and connections, touching the lives of countless people with her warmth and kindness. In her later years, she moved to Whitelaw, where she enjoyed retirement surrounded by family.
Annette’s faith was the heart of who she was. She found strength and peace in her church community, and her beliefs carried her through both joyful and difficult times. Her messages of faith will always be remembered by her children and grandchildren.
She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved her.
A Funeral Service will be held at the Fairview Gospel Chapel, Saturday, May 9th at 1:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at Whitelaw Cemetery. A luncheon will be held afterward at the Fairview Legion. Those not attending the graveside service, are welcome to go directly to the Legion for refreshments and a time of fellowship.
