I Annie (Schwerdt) Fisher was born in Saskatchewan in the year 1927. My parents were farmers in Saskatchewan. But in the year 1929 decided to make a move father north to the Great Peace River area. The dust storms and grasshoppers were invading Saskatchewan. My parents, my brother Ernie, my dad’s parents, and my dad’s two brothers made a move to what is known as Worsley in the Peace River area.
My parents took up land, raised a family, and they had a mixed farm. In 1948 I married Bob Fisher who was a returned soldier from the Second World War. Bob was born and raised in Edmonton and Topland area of Alberta. We farmed and Bob had a trucking business. We raised a family, a daughter Elsbeth, son William. Have two grandsons Greg, and Garth. Two granddaughters Bobbie Jo, and Lisa. 5 great-granddaughters, 5 great-grandsons and 2 great-great Grandchildren
Bob passed away in 1994, Bob was a good husband, father, and friend. I miss him dearly. In 2004 I sold my home in Worsley. Moved to the Garrison Manor in Fairview. Life was good, I’ve been truly blessed.
Donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Diabetes Foundation in Annie’s honour.
