August Wasylciw

We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of our dearly beloved August Wasylciw on November 23, 2020.

August was born in Borvshchiv Poland and immigrated to Canada. The family landed in Halifax, moved to Saskatchewan (where the grasshoppers chased them out) ending up in the Peace River country in Worsley where they farmed until retirement.  His lifelong wife of 68 years Nancy was at his side in all their adventures. August and Nancy enjoyed several years of retirement in Fairview.  August finished his journey in extended care in Fairview. To quote a family friend who said, “August got to use up most of his runway before he took flight.” Sadly missed, always remembered, always loved.

August is survived by his loving wife Nancy, children Janet (Dan), Donna (Ron), Ken (Clara), Brenda (Pat) and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. August dearly loved his family.

August is predeceased by his parents Peter and Mary Wasylciw, sister Stella Chubak, brothers Walter, Anton, Roman, and Bowden Wasylciw.

A Celebration of August’s Life will be held at a later date due to covid restrictions.
