It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Dad in Fairview, AB.
Barry was born in Waka, SK on July 12, 1959. Barry was the fourth child of six born to Alexander and Hermine Burechailo. Barry attended school and went on to graduate in 1978, after graduating, he stayed home to help his dad and brother Delbert on the farm and then in 1987 he made the move to Alberta. He moved to the little town of Spirit River, AB and started working for G Richard Drilling in 1988 and continued to work there until 2009. Barry was the best drill hand there ever was. Barry then met Stacey in Spirit River, they would move in together and welcome their daughter Shelby, born January 23, 1993. They then moved to Fairview, AB and bought a home together where they would welcome two sons; Brennan, born April 17, 1995, and Jesse, born March 2, 1997. In 2000, they decided to go their separate ways. Barry would pick his kids up every chance he had and would take them on road trips to visit his siblings in Dorermy, SK. Those trips were some of our best memories. In 2007, Barry met Shelly and they bought a house together in Woking, AB, and they would soon be married on July 12, 2008. They moved to Ponoka, AB, and shortly after, welcomed their son Trax on December 13, 2009. In 2017, they separated, and Barry went on to work various jobs hauling grain or asphalt, or working on drills. In April 2020, Barry decided to move back to Fairview. In June of 2020, he was hospitalized and in July, diagnosed with COPD and right-sided Congestive Heart Failure - he fought a good 5-year battle.
Barry would always make trips to Grande Prairie, AB with Shelby and his granddaughters, help her with canning, harvesting the garden, going to her place for supper or for Birthdays, watching the dogs, letting out the chickens, and his favourite part - getting the girls off the bus after school. Barry lived with Brennan for a bit before he got his own place in the Garrison Manor, and they would often bug each other and had many good laughs. Barry and Brennan would also go for drives together and see what kind of trouble they could get into. Barry would go hunting with Jesse any chance he could, or would go help Jesse in the shop, working on stuff. Barry also helped Jesse harvest a few moose and deer. Barry and Trax were inseparable up until Barry moved back to Fairview, they would attend the Ponoka Stampede together every year. Barry moved into the Garrison Manor and enjoyed building puzzles with the ladies, or playing cards; his favourite was Solitaire. Barry got to spend the last 5 years making memories with his kids and grandkids, and they were his pride and joy. Barry has left a great legacy to live on and honour him. No more suffering, Dad, may you finally rest in peace. Until we meet again, we love and miss you dearly.
Barry leaves to mourn his daughters Danielle and Shelby (Dylan), sons Brennan, Jesse (Kirsten), and Trax. Grandchildren Macey, Madison, Everly, Ensley, Bowen and Baby Burechailo on the way. His brother Delbert (Sheryl), sisters Maureen, Marlene (Harold), and Diane. Along with many nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.
