It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Sam Dennis after a short battle with cancer. Sam passed away at the age of 69, in the Fairview Hospital with his family by his side.
Sam was born in Oshawa, Ontario to Carl and Dorothy Dennis. His given name was Carl but upon arrival at home, his Aunt Marion said, “He’s not a Carl; he’s a Sam and that stuck. He grew up on the farm in Taunton, Ontario, where many shenanigans, including Chestnut wars were had with his siblings and Uncle Bill. Sam’s favorite things to do were go hunting and fishing.
Sam worked at an Equestrian Centre in Ontario and then became a butcher. He met his wife Patricia, and they decided to make the move out west in 1988. They were married on December 24, 1989. Sam loved the west and continued to enjoy hunting and fishing. Sam began his career in the oil patch as a pipeline insulator for SRM and worked in other oil patch-related jobs for other companies. He became a truck driver and was driving for La Prairie Group upon his passing.
Sam is survived by his wife(Honey my Honey) of 35 years, Patricia, son Jeremy (Shona), step-children John (Adrienne), Carl (Crystal) and Natasha (Bruce).
Grandchildren - Isobel, Justin, Ember, Zoey, Ariel, Willow and Daunte.
Siblings Ron (Debbie), Judy (Ray), Gale (Wayne), Guy.
He will be missed by all family members, including many nieces and nephews.
Sam was predeceased by his parents, Carl and Dorothy.
There will be a Celebration of Life for friends and family to be announced at a later date.
