Caroline Mary (Lueken) Kronast

It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Caroline Kronast, who passed away peacefully on November 3, 2025, at Fairview Long Term Care at the age of 84. Caroline was born on March 3, 1941, in Fairview, the eldest child of August and Elizabeth Lueken.

After completing her schooling at Friedenstal and St. Thomas More School, she married Louis Kronast. Together, they raised five daughters. During this time, she was busy advancing her education and career, honing her sewing skills, gardening, visiting with neighbours and friends and being involved in her community. Caroline’s greatest joy was enjoying time with her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren together with her husband of 67 years, Louis.

Caroline will forever be remembered for her passion for fashion, show-stopping flowers and her deep love of family. Her life was a testament to her kindness and compassion, radiating warmth that touched everyone she met.

She was predeceased by her parents, August and Elizabeth Lueken, siblings Ed Lueken, Hilda Watchorn and Joe Lueken, parents-in-law Joe and Monica Kronast, and sister-in-law and brother-in-law Anne and Roy Cunningham.

Caroline‘s memory will be cherished by her loving husband Louis, daughters Michelle Moskalyk (David), Ilene Lane (Mike), Sandra Fox (Tim), Melissa Makarenko (Dave), Nancy Jensen (Joe Backus), 13 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Frieda Watchorn (Merv), Elsie Duvall (Gordie), sisters-in-law Dora Lueken, Dorothy Lueken and brother-in-law Bill Watchorn.

Caroline’s family wishes sincere thanks to all the staff at Fairview Long Term Care and Fairview Health Complex for the wonderful care and thoughtfulness provided to Mom and our family.
