Catherine Schneider

Katie was a long time resident of Hines Creek (AB) and Fairview (AB). She passed away at Fairview Continuing Care at the age of 92. She was born in Czulczyce, Poland to Rudolf and Hulda Knopf on May 16, 1929.  She arrived at Halifax, Nova Scotia with her mom and dad at the age of 11 months along with her brother Edmund who was 3 years old.  She married Joseph Schneider on April 6, 1948. Katie and Joe worked hard side by side to make a good home for their three daughters. The two of them ran a trucking company in Hines Creek for many years before retiring in Fairview. Katie was known for her beautiful yard, the lawn was always cut.

Katie was predeceased by her husband Joe, her parents Rudolf and Hulda, brothers Ed, Archie, Abbie, and sisters Gertie, and Hertha, also grandson Roger Berg. She leaves her daughters Kathy(Gilwood) Berg, Maryann Cunningham, and Barb(Mickey) Bettenson. Also 6 grandchildren, numerous great and great great grandchildren. Sister Olga, brothers Otto and Alvin.

A Graveside service will be held at a later date for the immediate family.
