Christine Sophie Necyk

We are so sad to share that Mrs. Christine Necyk of Red Deer, Alberta peacefully passed away with her family by her side at the Red Deer Hospice Society on August 23, 2025 at the age of 78 years.

Christine loved spending time with her family and especially preparing her signature Ukrainian dishes for them.  She also loved spending time puttering in her yard and her garden. She will be greatly missed.

Christine is survived by her daughter Carol; son Warren (Jennifer); grandchildren Christie Anctil, Robert and Randi Denison, Carter and Nadia Necyk; great-grandchildren Mason and Kyra Clow, Tala and Kali Anctil, Evan Milne, Maverick and Madison Wood, Asijha, Amya, Alexandrea, Aiden and Asher Roeum, and Zoe Mendoza Denison;  sister Eva Wolansky; brothers Peter (Judy) Kibich, and Bill (Lydia) Kibich; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husbands Victor Necyk and Laverne Vandemark; son Alex Sinclair; grandson Cody Sinclair; parents Wasyl and Maria Kibich; sisters Pearl Goruk, Katie Davidchuk, Annie Semenowich, Lena Koefer, Marion Kuziemsky, and brother John Kibich.

A Graveside Service will take place at the Vale of Peace Cemetery in Notikewin on Friday, August 29, 2025 at 2:00 PM and the family invites you to join them. A recording of the Service can be viewed here. 

Memorial donations may be made to the Red Deer Hospice Society.
