In loving memory of David Arthur Wiebe (December 20th, 1937 - January 24th, 2024). It is with heavy hearts that we announce his peaceful passing at the age of 86, surrounded by his family at Fairview Hospital. A devoted resident of the Peace Region, David leaves behind a legacy rich with passion and service.
David's zest for life was evident in his diverse hobbies, including hunting, fishing, photography, baseball, welding, and quadding. His commitment extended beyond personal pursuits, as he served as a volunteer ambulance attendant, ski patrol member, and first aid instructor, embodying a true sense of responsibility to others.
David's professional journey was equally impactful, ranging from owning and operating PW Box Mill in Chinook Valley to serving as a safety manager in various capacities, including at Canfor Hines Creek, Alberta Transportation throughout the Peace Region, and Terus Construction in Western Canada.
David is survived by his beloved wife Gladys and their sons Sheldon (Wendy), Troy, Dan (Kerry), and Lance (Diane), 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, and two buns. David’s sister Della Erbacher, her 4 children, and 3 daughters of sister Lois mourn the loss. David reunites with his predeceased sister Lois, her husband Don Gent, brother-in-law Art Erbacher, grandson Christian, and his parents Anne and Herman.
A celebration of David's vibrant life will be held May 4, 2024, at 1:00 Dunvegan Motor Inn.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Fairview Ski Hill, Amy's House in Edmonton, or Angel Flight, reflecting David's commitment to compassion and community support.
May he rest in eternal peace, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, kindness, and a profound impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
