It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Debbie Fay Benson on October 30th at her home in Fairview.
Debbie was born on March 2, 1957 in Sexsmith, AB to Art and Yvette Benson. She grew up surrounded by a large family and spent most of her life in the Peace Country area. Debbie’s life was filled with love for her children and grandchildren who she cherished deeply. Alongside her husband Ken, she dedicated herself to raising their kids and spoiling the grandchildren. Family meant everything to Debbie as she enjoyed attending sporting events, Christmas concerts and baking in the kitchen with her loved ones.
She had a passion for Christmas that was unmatched, a crazy obsession if you will. Every corner of her home was decorated with care and she delighted in preparing home-baked goods for all to enjoy. Debbie had an infectious laugh that could light up a room and a very caring heart that would move her to tears by the smallest gestures. The loss of our mom leaves a profound void in our lives, and nothing will ever be the same without her.
Debbie leaves to mourn her partner, Ken Bennett; her children, Larry (Lacey) Benson and children Cooper and Molly, Danielle Dechant and children Austin (Kelsey), Tori(Tru) and McKenna, Michelle Benson and children Kenley and Dani, Chandelle Benson and children Emily and Haley; stepdaughter Kayla Bennett (John ) and children Gracie and Hailey; her siblings Doloris Benson, Alan (Sheryle) Benson, Rose (Kelsey) Coney, Brenda Benson, Patti Benson and Tom (Michelle) Benson as well as many nieces and nephews.
Debbie was predeceased by her parents, Art Benson and Yvette Robideau, stepfather Alfred Robideau, siblings Dennis Benson, Donna Jacklin, Lynn Gauthier, Larry Benson and nephews James Benson and Kelsey Benson.
The family will gather at a later date to say our final goodbyes to Debbie. Memorial donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
