Delores Ivy Zatko, long-term resident of Keg River, Alberta, who was born on March 2.1943 in Stettler Alberta, passed away on December 14th, 2024 in Grande Prairie at the age of 81 years.
Delores spent most of her life in Keg River, growing up there as a child, and during the 1962 year she married Victor Zatko, in which they raised 4 children and homesteaded and farmed for almost 50 years.
Delores never slowed down, she just didn’t know how. She could always be found in her garden, with her flowers or with her crochet hook, and not to mention loved socialization with the community of Keg River and her family. When living in Grande Prairie, she always seemed to have something on the go, grandkids have said that she had more of an active social life than they did, whether it was going to the farmers market, greenhouses, parties at the elders centre or playing cards with her neighbours. She kept very busy. Even though she had lived in Grande Prairie for almost 14 years, Keg River was still her home as she often talked about her family and many friends there.
The family will be having a service at the Bear Creek Funeral Home in Grande Prairie, Alberta (11802 99 Avenue) on Saturday, January 11th, 2025 at 11 AM.
Care entrusted to Bear Creek Funeral Home 780-830-7742 bcfh.ca
