Doreen Marie Chalmers

It is with great sadness that the family of Ms. Doreen Chalmers announces her passing on October 16, 2024 at the age of 82 years.

Doreen is survived by her son Sandy Chalmers; grandchildren James Chalmers, Tessa Chalmers, and Chalene Chalmers; and great-grandchildren Jaycee Chalmers and Hudson Chalmers.

She was predeceased by her parents Elizabeth and Julius, daughter Cindy, brother Jules, and sisters Ann and Alice.

Doreen was born on March 24, 1942 in Hines Creek, Alberta to Elizabeth and Julius Weber. She was an award-winning hairstylist and esthetician, and had a great passion for writing, reading, and poetry.  She had owned her own beauty school in Calgary, hairdressing shops in Brooks and Medicine Hat, as well as authored and published several books throughout her life.

She also loved watching and playing curling and had been looking forward to being out on the rink this season. Her passion and zest for life will be deeply missed.

A Celebration of Doreen’s Life will be held at the Dunvegan Inn & Suites on Saturday, November 2, 2024 at 1:00 PM.
