Elmer Theodore Robinson

Elmer Theodore Robinson, long-time resident of the Peace Country, passed away at his home on June 23, 2026 near Whitelaw, Alberta at the age of 89.

Elmer Robinson was born in Fairview, Alberta on November 14, 1936 to Cleland and Jean Robinson, who resided in the Golden Meadow District.  He attended Grade School locally and later went on to High School in Fairview, Alberta. 

He went on to marry a local girl, Harriet Mastin and together they had eight children.  After the youngest was born, Elmer and Harriet separated and later divorced. 

Elmer continued to reside in the Grande Prairie Area, working as a Heavy Duty Mechanic and later the sole proprietor of Robinson Heavy Equipment Repair Ltd, all while continuing to raise his children as a single father. 

When nearing retirement, Elmer moved back to the Whitelaw Area where he raised cattle, farmed grain, hay and continued to work within the community in his chosen trade. He would never say no to anyone who needed assistance and would do whatever he could to help. 

Elmer was a dedicated family man who loved the outdoors; walking, fishing and hunting. Spending time with his family was one of his greatest pleasures. He loved entertaining all his grandchildren and great-grandchildren whenever he could. 

He is survived by his younger brother Edward Robinson and extended family. His children: Diane Robinson (Darcy), Marshall Robinson (Wanda), Eva LeBlanc (Bryan), Tashon Ziara (George), Sara Davis (Tony), Terry Beaudry (Mario), Grant Robinson (Teresa), Theodore Robinson, as well as a very large extended family of grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, etc. to numerous to list. 

Elmer was predeceased by his mother Jean Robinson, his father Cleland Robinson, his older brother Douglas Robinson, his grandson Bryden Sparks and numerous other family, friends and pets. 

It was his wish to be cremated with no service.

There will be a Celebration of Life at a later date.
