Evelyn Mary (Schur) Stanley

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother, Evelyn Mary Stanley (Schur). She passed on Sunday, January 2nd, 2022 after a brief illness at the age of 78 years. 

Evelyn devoted her life to her husband Willie of 49 years their four children Ross, Tracy, Kelly, and Robert. In later years she proudly boasted about her 8 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren. 

She cared deeply for her family, friends, and her community. She loved to help and volunteer in many organizations, such as a First Responder, Ski Patroller, Junior Forest wards, and many more. 

Evelyn held the position of Post Master in Worsley for many years. This gave her the opportunity to see and visit with her neighbours daily. Something she loved to do. 

She had a passion for living on the farm, where she would make soaps, butter, sauerkraut, and work endlessly in her garden, and flowerbeds.  At one point she decided to start making and decorating wedding cakes. 

Evelyn loved to entertain her neighbours, all while maintaining her traditional Ukrainian heritage which she was very proud of. 

Evelyn is survived by her children Kelly (Tim), Tracy (Danny), Ross (Debbie), along with her 8 grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces, and nephews. 
She is predeceased by her husband Willie, and son Robert. 

Special thank you to the Doctors, Nurses, and staff at Fairview Long Term Care, for loving and caring for our mother Evelyn. 

A Graveside Service will be held at the Worsley Cemetery, in Worsley Alberta on July 23, 2022 at 2 PM.
