Frank Louis Mason

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Frank Mason, Resident of Montney Valley, Alberta on June 2nd, 2023.

Frank Louis Mason was born at home in the Montney Valley, December 6th 1938 to Noel and Hazel Mason. He was the 7th of 12 siblings. As a kid Frank enjoyed hunting and horse back riding. He attended Montney Valley School to grade 6 or 7. Then to Royce School until grade 9 before starting working.

Frank had a great work ethic. His drive and character lead his successful career in Frank Mason Consulting. Frank worked in gas and oil industry construction department, as heavy equipment operator, job supervisor and construction consultant from 1956-2014. 1997-2014 consulting for Anderson exploration and Devon Canada.  

Frank worked in BC, Alberta, Northwest Territories, Yukon and spent several winters in the arctic and worked on the ice on the Beaufort Sea.

In 2014 Frank retired from construction. He spent his retirement years active. He continued to farm along with nephew Ron. He kept in touch with old work colleagues from along the years. He had a green thumb and grew an elaborate greenhouse.

The love Frank had for his grandchildren and great grandchildren was unmeasurable. He spent countless hours sitting and teaching them. Frank passed many skills on to them from learning how to draw to how to pile brush in the D7. He enjoyed watching them ride horses and dirt bikes, play hockey, taking them out for a drive and ice cream and stopping in every few days with fruit and chocolate milk just to check on them.

Frank was kind-hearted, and saw the good in everyone.

Frank is survived by siblings Gertrude, Elmer, Wilma (Hughie), Jack (Gloria), step children, grandchildren, great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Frank was predeceased by Parents Noel and Hazel Mason, Siblings Bernice, Buz, Owen, Nona, Ruth, Albert, Micheal, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Celebration of Life will take place Saturday, June 10th, at 2 pm at the Eureka Hall.
