Gary Proctor

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Gary Proctor a.k.a Procman at the age of 62. Gary passed away peacefully at home in Worsley, Alberta on January 16th, 2024, surrounded by his wife and daughters. Gary was born on January 7th, 1962, in Fairview, Alberta to Ron Proctor and Lorraine Torvik.

Gary lived a fulfilling life dedicated to his family, friends, and his beloved Calgary Flames. His warm heart, sense of humour and Sarcastic, Fun-loving charm has left a lasting impression on anyone who has had the privilege of knowing him throughout the years.

On October 10th, 1981, he married his beloved wife, Shelly Proctor and together they built a loving family consisting of 3 daughters. Gary was a devoted Husband, Father, and Pop, always putting the needs of his loved ones first. Family was his greatest source of joy and strength, and he cherished every moment spent with them. There was nothing that meant more to him than family, whether it was his close family, friends who quickly became family or the family he accumulated in the tire industry or at the Worsley ski hill in Clear Hills County over the years.

Gary always faced life’s challenges with courage, resilience, and humour, inspiring those around him with his strength and determination. This remained true right up until the very end. Always making sure his girls continued to smile and find the lighter side of things no matter how hard things got. His memory will forever be etched in the hearts of all of us.

A celebration of Gary’s life will be held in the Spring/Summer of 2024 to honour him for all his memories and love that we will cherish and carry with us as we continue this journey with him in our hearts.

Gary is predeceased by his parents Lorraine Torvick & Ron Proctor, Grandparents Vi & Lloyd Portsmouth, Aileen Kerr and Melvin “Buck” Proctor. He is survived by his Wife Shelly Proctor, Daughters Jessica Cowell, Ronda (Les) Segriff & Christine (Sean) Wynne, his beloved Grandchildren Logan Saunders, Savannah Saunders, Jersie-Lynn Saunders and Owynn Segriff, Sisters Zelda Parks & Dianna Proctor, Stepmom Linda Proctor along with many Cousins, Nieces, Nephews, Aunts and Uncles to whom he loved dearly. Gary’s legacy will continue to live on through the memories of those who were fortunate enough to come to know him and love him.

May he rest in peace, and may his family and friends find comfort in the cherished memories they shared with Gary.
