Glenn was born in Edmonton on April 2nd, 1971 to David and Linda Whitney, he was the first born out of 3 sons – Jeff and Chris. When the family moved to Dave's beloved hometown in Whitelaw, Alberta, here is where Glenn’s love for the outdoors began. Whether it be Dirtbiking in the hills of Elk Island, or seeing how far the Dunvegan River goes, Glenn liked to test the limits of life.
Glenn took on not only the summer but also the winter. From sledding in the mountains to gold in ski jumping in the 1989 Alberta Winter Games. Glenn excelled in everything he tried.
This especially flourished when he decided to pursue welding as a career and took his education further at Nait in Calgary, Ab, where he got his ticket and B-pressure welding.
Glenn also had a passion for restoring and repairing antique tractors, he ended up travelling to the States to help out a friend in restoration, where they ended up receiving many awards and medals in tractor shows.
Glenn had a meticulous eye that could identify and problem solve a situation. For this reason being why his creations would turn out flawless and innovative in the end.
Glenn Whitney has lived many interesting lives, he has also touched the hearts of many with his kindness, compassion, and willingness to help out anyone who needs it. He was a friend, a brother, a father, a son, an all-around wonderful, and genuine person.
