Helen Deacon Obituary

With gratitude for a life well lived and the love she had for her family, we share that our Mom, Helen Deacon passed away on April 21, 2026 at the age of 87.

The greatest joys of her life were her family, the Toronto Blue Jays, and crocheting. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and sister. Mom loved being a stay at home mother, caring for her family in the early years in Manning. When our dad passed away suddenly, we moved to Fairview to be near extended family and there Mom began her career at the bank. Family was always her priority. As the eldest in a family of eight, she always felt the need to check in on her younger siblings to make sure that they were doing well. In her retirement years she spent endless hours with her grandchildren who were the light of her life. In recent years she filled her days socializing, attending weekly Mass and daily exercise and activities with Cony.

She was predeceased by her parents, Paul and Katherine. Her husband, Marvin and siblings Henry, Paul, Michael and Elizabeth, brother-in-law Wayne and sister-in-law Beverly. Her memory will be held dearly by her family. Daughter Carmen Gauvreau, son-in-law Andy Gauvreau. Daughter Cindy, son-in-law Chris. Grandchildren Mason (Torri), Sam, Chelsea, Cody and Colton. Brother Bill (Germaine), sister Marie (Dave) and sister Bernice along with many nieces and nephews. All of us are especially fortunate to hold wonderful memories of the time spent with our Mom. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

We would like to extend our deepest appreciation to the amazing staff at Points West Living for their care and compassion over the last four years.

In lieu of flowers, donations to either of the Peace River animal shelters would be greatly appreciated.
