It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Helmin Marks Hansen. Helmin was born in the back of a wagon on April 16, 1950, to Doreen and Ronald. Helmin was the oldest of his siblings and was one heck of a big brother.
Helmin lived a very adventurist life. He had a love for the oil rigs, ranching, farming and hockey.
Helmin was born and raised in Nanton, where he met the love of his life Rhonda. They built their home in Stavely and welcomed their beautiful daughter Geminy. They later moved to Eureka River where they chose the life of farming and the door was always open to their home. He made lifelong friendships there and became a staple of the community. Helmin loved farming and was always found helping someone whether it be trucking grain, chasing cows or his favourite of thrashing oats in his Robin Hood hat.
He was 54 when he became Grampy, and he was the proudest one around from then on.
On April 2, 2023, Helmin took his final ride at the age of 72.
Helmin is predeceased by his Mom, Doreen, father Ronald, brother Doug, nephew Kavrin and his beloved wife Rhonda.
He is survived by his daughter Geminy (Eric) grandchildren Charleigh, Hudson and Gavin. His sister Roberta (Barry), brother Shane (Maureen), nieces and nephews Nahanni, Karla, Bill, Liard and Morgan, great niece Autumn and great nephew Nicholas
A celebration of life will be held at the Eureka River Hall on April 8th, 2023, at 2 pm.
