Born in a small town in Germany called Derschen he went to school in Stangenrod , in the German Province of Rhineland Palatinate, Westerwald area.
He became a Bricklayer in a 3 years Apprenticeship/College and helped to rebuild Germany, especially Cologne after the second WW. Pretty soon he became a renowned specialist for restoring Mosaics and Natural Stone Buildings. He was married in 1955 to his wife Jutta, they were together ever since.
His passion was nature, he liked hunting and hiking in the mountains,1982 he immigrated to Canada and started to live his Canadian dream by farming, hunting, and doing all the things, he always wanted to do. Horst was very happy on his little piece of land, did not need a big farm or great riches. His richness was the nature surrounding him. He was very happy, if he got visitors from Germany, especially family and his Grandson made him very pleased, when they could spend time together.
He leaves behind his Wife, one son, and 3 daughters, his youngest son died unexpectedly here in Canada but gave him (with his wife 2) well-loved Grandchild's here in Canada, 5 Grandkids in Germany, and meanwhile 9 Great Grandkids. 3 Sons in Law and 2 Daughters in Law and a sister with her family.
He liked it, after the work to sit on his self-made bench in front of his Farmhouse and watch his Cows while smoking his pipe.
A Funeral Service for Horst will take place at the Fairview Gospel Chapel, on February 22, 2022, by invitation.
