Jane Hurley

It is with great sadness that the family of Jane Hurley announces her passing on August 4, 2024, at the age of 73 after a short battle with lung cancer.

Jane was born in Westlock, Alberta. She lived in Westlock and Grande Prairie but lived most of her life on a farm near Beaverlodge, Alberta. Jane enjoyed the last several years in a retirement home in Fairview, Alberta.

Whenever Jane travelled, she would light up the room or dance floor with a mischievous twinkle in her eye and a contagious laugh. She endeavoured to bring joy to everyone she met and help anyone she could. Jane loved all animals, especially birds, and would literally have them eating out of her hand. Her love of life will be dearly missed.

I’d like to leave an afterglow of smiles when life is done.

I’d like to leave an echo whispering softly down the ways,

Of happy times and laughing times and bright and sunny days.

I’d like the tears of those who grieve, to dry before the sun;

Of happy memories that I leave when life is done.
