Jason Lloyd Erickson

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jason Lloyd Erickson.

Jason came into the world weighing 8lbs, 2 oz on October 24, 1972 to Adrian and Sharon Erickson. As a child he was always curious and busy which continued with his brother Preston who arrived 18 months later. Living on the farm, the two enjoyed playing and exploring the outdoors together. Four years later, they would welcome their little brother Ryan who would grow up idolizing Jason.

Jason learned to hunt and fish at an early age and the passion he had for both was evident through his lifetime. You could also often find him skidooing, skiing, golfing or quadding. Jason simply loved the outdoors.

Jason attended school in Hines Creek and although he didn’t enjoy it that much, he enjoyed spending time with his friends. He started playing hockey when he was 7 and played until he was 16. Jason loved his teammates and enjoyed fighting as much as scoring.

He started dating Toni Meashaw at 16 and in 1996 they were married. They have two beautiful daughters, Cassidy and Brenley.

In April 1998, he lost his brother and best friend Preston. A tragedy he was never able to recover from.

Jason continued to work in the oilfield and in later years he enjoyed farming with Bruce and Derek Meashaw. Over his lifetime Jason travelled and experienced more than most. He had a big heart and was loved by many. He was a son, a brother, a father and a friend.

Jason was predeceased by his brother Preston, grandparents Mary and Bill Dacyk, Erling and Violet Erickson, cousins Roxanne Leary and Greg Dacyk and uncles David, Ken and Jack. Survived by mother Sharon and stepdad David, father Adrian and stepmom Simone, daughters Cassidy and Brenley, brother Ryan, nieces Tradyn and Taya, nephew Tristyn and many more family.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday April 2, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Dave Shaw Memorial Complex.
