John Zaderey

John Zaderey was born August 19, 1940, in Highland Park, Alberta to Nikanor and Irene. He passed away peacefully on March 10, 2023, in Fairview, Alberta, at the age of 82.

He lived and farmed in Highland Park his entire life. John enjoyed farming, curling, hunting, and travelling. He especially enjoyed spending time at Pratt’s Landing, storytelling and spending time with family and friends.

John is survived by sons Kevin (Sherri) and Jerald (Christina); Grandchildren Nevin (Jodi), Nicholas (Kali), Houston (Margaret) and Alyssa (Nic); and Great Grandchildren Samuel and Gracie.  He is also survived by longtime partner Denise Bondaruk and her family, sister Annette Kowalenko and many extended family members.

John was predeceased by his wife Grace, parents Nikanor and Irene and sister Elsie Chaykowski.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to a charity of one’s choice in memory of John Zaderey.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Dr. Majaesic, the staff of the Fairview Health Complex and the staff of the Harvest Lodge.

A service will be held on March 17, 2023, at 1:00 pm at the Fairview Legion Hall (10315 110 St) with interment at the Highland Park Cemetery. Lunch at the Legion Hall will be provided following the interment. For those who cannot attend the service in person, a live stream will be available Here
