Judy Goodzeck Obituary

Judy Goodzeck, a long-time resident of Manning, went to her Heavenly Home on July 1st, 2026. She was sleeping peacefully as her spirit went to be with her Savior.

Judy was born to Walter and Emily Jason, on January 28, 1949. Judy was raised on the farm east of Manning, along with her siblings. She loved playing with her siblings and the neighbour's, but her biggest love was for her Cats.  Judy started school in Manning, but finished her grade 12 in Grande Prairie where she lived with Henry and Ethel Martens.

In 1983, while working at the Manning Motor Inn she met the love of her life, Peter Goodzeck and they were married.  She then became a farmers wife until they retired and moved to town. In 2014 they moved into the Del Aire Lodge. Peter passed away in 2021 and in 2022 Judy became a Long Term Care Resident. This is where she was living at her time of passing.

Judy’s favorite month was January, as she loved her Birthdays. They meant so much to her. Of course, she never forgot any of our birthdays and would always be the first one to call and wish you a Happy Birthday, that was after she always identified herself. “Hi, this is Judy Goodzeck”. (We have missed that call over the last couple of years).

Judy is survived by her sister, Gail (Charlie) Lambert, brothers Bob (Linda) Jason and Brad (Brenda) Jason.  Brother-in-law George (Golda) Goodzeck and Sister-in-Law Lillian Goodzeck and many nieces and nephews.

Judy was met by her loved ones that went before her. Husband Peter, Mom and Dad, Walter and Emily, sister Marjorie, nieces Kelly and Misty, Nephews Lonnie & Derek, In Laws, Metro and Mary Goodzeck, Bill Goodzeck, Helen Goodzeck and Alex Goodzeck.

A vey special Thank you to Dr. Capon, Chere, Vicki and all the staff at the Manning Community Health Centre who loved and cared for Judy over the last four years.

Thank you Heavenly Father for taking her home to glory and providing her a new body. She is having the best party in Heaven reunited with her loved ones. Those Canada Day Fireworks…they were for her. She’s found her eternal happy place.

A Graveside Service will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Hillview Cemetery in Deadwood, AB.
