It is with heavy hearts that I share the sad news of Kelly’s sudden passing. His death will leave a big hole in my life.
Kelly graduated from high school in Grande Prairie. He worked in the oilfield for many years before he moved to Vancouver area installing flooring. When he came back from B.C, he went to work for the Grande Prairie Salvage and remained there for many years. He also went to work for Peace Steel, a sister company to the salvage.
Kelly moved to Fairview in 2012. He worked at The Great Canadian Oil Change for quite a while. When he found himself out of work, he went to the Fairview Bottle Depot and eventually became the manager there.
Kelly was a huge history buff and loved anything to do with WW1 and WW2. He was very knowledgeable in Canada’s history in all the wars they were part of.
Kelly enjoyed coming out to Diana’s house every week to play cards and have a big home cooked meal, like his mom used to make.
Kelly loved all animals. He had a cat that he rescued, Abby that he loved so much and was a great companion for him. He also had Zeva, she was the young, busy one and kept him quite entertained. Abby and Zeva have found a new home together. They are the resident clinic cats at the Fairview Vet Clinic.
Kelly is survived by his sister Diana (Ron) Kosheiff and nephews Tyler (Jayme) and Justin. He was pre-deceased by his mother, Tracee Ames and his father, Jim Ames.
Kelly was cremated and will be laid to rest beside his parents during a private graveside service at the Gage Holy Trinity Cemetery.
