With very saddened hearts we announce the passing of our beloved husband, father, grandpa and great grandpa Londor Krahn at the age of 84 on July 4, 2024.
Londor was born on December 29, 1939 to parents Fredinand and Wanda Krahn in Hines Creek, AB. He was the 9th child of 14 brothers and sisters. He went to school at the Chester School which he always said” I went in one door and out the other”. Londor worked at many jobs as a young man, from working in the bush to hauling cows, freight and building roads. He eventually started to work at Canfor in Hines Creek where he worked for the next 30 years until he retired at the age of 65.
Londor met the love of his life Georgette Sirois in 1963. They married on December 29, 1966. Together they raised 3 children, Tammy, Michelle and Brian.
He had a great love of the land and this is where he and Georgette built their home and enjoyed their lives together. Besides working the land Londor had a great passion for horses. He loved to play with the babies and as he would say “take the fight out of them”. He would take time in the summers to go to horse training schools and a great many horse shows. In the winters you could always find him in his barn and riding arena working his horses, playing with the babies and getting ready for the next show season.
In 2000 Londor and Georgette decided to retire the farm life and move to town. In Fairview they built a new home where Londor kept busy gardening, moving lawn and shovelling snow. He also greatly enjoyed visiting with neighbours and friends that stopped by for coffee. But nothing made him happier than when all his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren come to hang out with dad and grandpa.
Londor passed away peacefully in the Fairview hospital on July 4. 2024. He is survived by his loving wife Georgette, daughters Tammy Schiml (Terry Shewchuk), Michelle Hayward (Paul Hayward) and son Brian Krahn (Vicki Krahn), six grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. Brothers Robert Krahn, Neil Krahn (Darlene Krahn) and Sister Linda Hudak. Predeceased by his parents Fredinad and Wanda Krahn. Seven sisters , two brothers, several nephews and a niece. Son-in-law David Schiml.
A Funeral Service for Londor will be held at the Dave Shaw Memorial Complex at 2:00 pm Saturday July 13, 2024. Interment to follow at the Peace Grove Lutheran Cemetery. A time of fellowship and luncheon will take place back at Dave Shaw Memorial Complex.
