It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Marlene Olson, who passed away suddenly on Saturday, June 6, at the age of 93.
Marlene lived a long, healthy, and fulfilling life, remaining active and engaged throughout her years. She was known for her independent spirit, warm heart, and enthusiasm for life. Her days were enriched by her many interests, including travel, the arts, skiing, knitting, reading, and her devoted involvement with her church community.
Marlene embraced every opportunity to learn, explore, and connect with others. Whether she was discovering new places, enjoying a good book, creating something beautiful with her knitting, or participating in church activities, she approached life with energy, curiosity, and gratitude.
She will be lovingly remembered by her daughters, Jayne Morrison and Peggy Morrison, and by her sister, Sheryl Wanagas as well as her grandchildren, Sydney, Keifer, Joel and her two great grandchildren Frankie and Hunter.
She also leaves behind many friends and members of her church community - all whose lives were touched by her kindness, friendship, and generous spirit.
Marlene's family takes comfort in the many happy memories she created over her 93 years and in knowing that she lived a life rich in experiences, faith, and love.
She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
May she rest in peace.
A Memorial Service for Marlene will take place at St. James Anglican Church in Peace River on Friday, June 12, 2026 at 2:00 PM.
