It is with great sadness that the Kosheiff family announces the passing of Michael Kosheiff Jr, of Fairview, AB, on August 14, 2021 at the age of 88. Mike was born and raised in the Fairview area, where he graduated from Fairview High School, worked at the Royal Bank, and was the Projectionist at the Gem Theatre in Fairview, before starting MK Electric and wiring many of the houses in and around Fairview. In 1954, Mike married Marjorie Lillian Hunt, and in 1965, Mike and Marj moved their growing family of 4 children out to his grandfather’s original homestead, 10 miles North of Fairview, where they added 3 more children. Mike and his family farmed and raised cattle for many years, before he finally settled down to retirement on the family farm.
Mike is predeceased by his Wife, Marjorie Kosheiff (Hunt); Father, Lawrence Kosheiff; Mother, Rachel Stykoff (Sideroff/Kosheiff), step father, Nick Stykoff, and Son-in-Law, Lyle Pitruniak. Mike is survived by his brother, Fred Kosheiff; his Children: Ivy (Brent Smailes); Gregory; Vicky (Greg Barnes); Linda (Garry Hoover); Harvey (Laureen); Ron (Diana); Peggy; as well as 13 Grandchildren, 14 Great Grandchildren and numerous cousins, nephews and nieces.
The Kosheiff family would like to thank the nursing staff at the Fairview Hospital and the Fairview Long Term Care centre for the care they took of our Dad where he spent his last few years with them. We would especially like to express our gratitude to Kerry Appleton and her team at LTC, for setting up weekly video calls with Dad during the Covid Epidemic. Being able to keep connected with our Dad during this difficult time was so appreciated.
