It is with heavy hearts that we mournfully announce the passing of Norman Larry Veysey on November 26, 2025. Norman was born on December 12, 1955, in Bedford, Quebec, to his parents Muriel Leila Cory and Norman Harry Veysey. He grew up in Greenfield Park, where he began building the skills and curiosities that would follow him throughout his life.
Norman had a natural talent for carpentry, and he was a dedicated handyman who took pride in figuring out how anything worked. He approached each project with patience, determination, and an inventive spirit. Above all, Norman cherished his family. His relationships and time spent with loved ones brought him his greatest joy. He travelled frequently from his dual residence in Montreal and Fairview.
Norman is survived by his sons Eric, David, and Brian; and his siblings Beverly Miller of Barton, Vermont, USA, June (Jeff) Channon of Kingston, Ontario, Rick Veysey of Fairview, Alberta, Sharon Veysey (Tom) of Chateauguay, Quebec, and Tom Veysey of Bedford, Quebec.
He was predeceased by his parents, Muriel and Norman Veysey.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to the Fairview Palliative Care Team, especially to Deb Ball and Jill Fortin, for their care and compassion, as well as a thank you to his many friends in Montreal and Fairview.
Honouring Norman’s wishes, there will be no service. Those who wish to do so may make a memorial donation in his name to the Fairview Palliative Care Society or the Canadian Cancer Society.
Norman will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
