Paul Gladue Obituary

It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we announce the passing of our Dad, Paul Leonard Gladue Sr., who was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 10, 2025, at the age of 84 in Peace River, Alberta.

A devoted husband, father, Mosum, Chapan, and servant of God, our Dad’s life was a testament to unwavering faith, humility, and compassion. Born on March 21, 1941, in Kamuassak (Big Rock, Wabasca), Alberta, Dad dedicated his life to ministry from a young age, feeling a strong call to share the Gospel and serve his community. Over the years, he became a beloved preacher and spiritual leader, known for his powerful sermons, kind heart, and steady wisdom. His words brought comfort to the grieving, hope to the lost, and joy to those who walked alongside him in faith.

More than just a preacher, our Dad was a counselor, mentor, and friend. He spent countless hours visiting the sick, guiding the struggling, and praying with anyone in need. His door and his heart were always open. Whether behind the pulpit or sitting quietly, he embodied Christ’s love in all he did. Dad’s greatest joy, however, was his family. He was a pillar of strength and love, leading with quiet grace and deep devotion.

He leaves behind his children: Faith (Ken), Lynda, Cathy, Valerie, Donna (Richard), Glenna, Paul Jr. (Daisy), and Jessica. He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Eli, Ira, Randi, Chasity, Kelly Jane, Gabrielle, Aysha, Skylar, Angel, Seattle, Kali, Heaven, Ty, Isabella, Levi, Ralph, Ashton, Draedon, and Kaitlyn; and his Chapans: Liam, Jacoby Prairie, and Shekinah.

He will be lovingly remembered by his adopted great-grandchildren:  Kali, Conner Keenan, Carson, and King Auger.

Dad is also survived by his siblings: sisters Elsie Lace, Bernice O'Neil, Irene (James) Cardinal; and brothers Raymond, Leonard, Arthur, Kerry, Paul, and Donald Auger, as well as his siblings on the Gladue side: Elsie Gladue, Dorothy (David) Freeman, Eva (David) Wetmore, Dean Phalmer, Cathy Yellowknee, Rosemarie, William (Lisa) Gladue, and Ivy (Lloyd) Gladue.

He is fondly remembered by many adopted children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, extended family members, and friends who will carry his legacy forward.

Dad was predeceased by his wife, our Mama, Viola Marie Gladue his cherished partner in life and ministry; his son-in-law Leon; son-in-law Vincent; granddaughter Ashleigh; great-grandson Skyler; his mother Ruth; father Burt; brother Kenny; and sister Violet.

Though our hearts are heavy, we rejoice in the knowledge that Dad is now at peace in the presence of his Savior, whom he so faithfully served. His life was one of grace, integrity, and steadfast faith.
