Our families are heartbroken to have to announce the passing of our beloved Presley. Presley Jean Paterson was born on September 16, 2022. She passed away peacefully in the arms of her mom and dad and surrounded by her aunties, uncles and grandparents at the Stollery Children’s Hospital on August 2nd, 2024, just six weeks shy of her second birthday.
We were all so very blessed to have had this beautiful, sweet and brave little girl in our lives for 686 days. She has left an indelible mark on each of our hearts, and we all the better for having had such a special girl in our lives - even if only for a very short while. Though she struggled with medical issues since infancy, she was the toughest kid we knew and we never imagined that we would all have to say goodbye to her so soon.
Left to mourn her loss and cherish her memory are: her parents Ryan and Teagan, big sister Bryn, grandparents Cindy, Terry, Bobbi and Andy, great-grandmother Jean, aunts and uncles Jayden, Jon, Kierston and Logan, little cousin Tanner, as well as her entire extended family, close family friends and anyone who was lucky enough to have known her. Presley was predeceased by her great-grandparents Rose, Ken, Elzie and Marlene, as well as her family cat Chester.
The death of a child is very devastating, therefore, in lieu of a public service, a small, private memorial for family and close friends is being planned.
We wish to thank everyone for all of their well wishes, prayers and support during our time of loss. Though we have asked for privacy during this difficult time, we appreciate knowing that we are in the thoughts and prayers of so many, and that Presley will be remembered as the amazing little girl that she was.
Presley’s name has now been added to the Butterfly Wall at the Edmonton Ronald McDonald House, and Teagan and Ryan also wish to leave a lasting legacy in memory of Presley by making a substantial donation to Ronald McDonald House. We ask that those who wish to honor Presley’s memory do so by making a donation to the campaign that has been created in Presley’s name.
