Rene Joseph George

It is with heavy hearts we mournfully announce the passing of Rene Gerard Joseph George, to be with his Savior on December 4, 2023, at the age of 71. Rene was born August 19, 1952, in Redvers, Saskatchewan. Rene passed away in the Peace River Hospital shortly after his cancer diagnosis. Rene completed his schooling in Bellegarde, Saskatchewan and throughout his life enjoyed hunting, camping, fishing and just the love of the outdoors. He loved to play crib, read, travel, and spend quality time with his family and friends. Rene actively volunteered and served on many Boards. Rene was also an active member of the Knights of Columbus.Rene greatly enjoyed his 41-year career in the Credit Union System in Saskatchewan, Alberta and B.C.Rene shared two children with Debra Jorgensen, Christopher and Collin, and in 2001 married Brenda Adelman and became the father of Carrie and Keane. Rene loved his role as a father and enjoyed his four granddaughters Darienne Roman, Sydney George and Amaya and Braelynn Elter.

Rene was known for his good sense of humour and quick wit. He was a good and loyal friend and loved by many. Rene will be deeply missed. Rene leaves to mourn his wife Brenda, children Christopher, Collin, Carrie (Jason), Keane (Stephanie) and granddaughters Darienne Roman, Sydney George, Amaya and Braelynn Elter. Also his sisters Jeannine (Amie Hardy), Jeannette(Arthur Henrion), Eva (Floyd Jamieson), mother-in-law Clara Adelman, sisters-in-law Debbie (Don Shinkewski), Denise (Bill Wiebe), brothers-in-law Scott (Angie Adelman), Randy Bett, AndyJerome and many nieces and nephews. Rene joins in Heaven his parents Emile and Yvonne George (Beriault), his brother Felix George, his nephews Dennis Hardy and Gary George, father-in-law Herman Adelman, sisters-in-law Sandy Bett and Sherry Jerome. In keeping with Rene’s wishes and instructions, cremation has taken place, and a Celebration of Rene’s life will take place at the Holy Family Catholic Church in Grimshaw, AB May 4th of 2024 at 2:00 PM.
