Richard Christie Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard George Christie, who passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at the Fairview Long Term Care Centre at the age of 86.

Richard was born in Tisdale, Saskatchewan. In 1957, he relocated with his family to Prince George, British Columbia, where he established his life and career. He was employed for many years in the forestry, mining, and road construction industries as an equipment operator. Richard was a longstanding and dedicated member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Lo. 115, having joined in 1959.

In his later years, Richard enjoyed spending extended periods placer mining in the Yukon and took great pleasure in travelling throughout the western United States and overseas.

Richard is survived by his son, Dwayne; his sister, Ruby (Ed); his brother, Alan (Esther); and numerous nieces and nephews, including Arlene, Verna, Roxanne, Lana, Holly, Alane, Calvin, and Darren, as well as extended family members.

He was predeceased by his parents, Olive May and Steve; his brother, Lorne; his sister, Audrey; and his former spouse, Lucille.

A Celebration of Life will be held in Prince George, British Columbia, at a later date. Those wishing to attend are invited to contact Dwayne at quesneldwayne@gmail.com for further information.
