It is with unimaginable sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Eugene Sutherland on May 25, 2026 at the age of 59 years.
Robert was a deeply loved husband, father, grandfather, and friend whose presence brought strength, laughter, and comfort to everyone lucky enough to know him. He leaves behind his loving wife, Sandy; his children, Leanne and Scott, Erin (Fred), Kassy and Chance, Russell and Marina, and Cheyanne; and his 10 beloved grandchildren, all of whom were the absolute light of his life.
The family would also like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Robert's long-time friends who stood faithfully beside him until the very end, his "Brother From Another Mother" Melvin, and dear friends Kevin and Bonnie, as well as all those wonderful friends who showed up over this past year. Your loyalty, love, presence and support meant more than words could ever express through his lifetime, but especially the last year.
Robert worked as a truck driver for many years, a role that reflected so much of who he was - hardworking, dependable, resilient, and always willing to show up for the people who needed him. No matter how long the days were or how heavy life became, he remained someone others could count on without hesitation.
He will be remembered for his incredible sense of humour, his kindness, his wisdom, and the way he made people feel safe simply by being near him. He was the kind of man who would help anyone without being asked, the kind of man who carried others through hard times even when he was carrying burdens of his own.
To his family, Robert was more than a husband and father, he was their rock, their safe place, and one of the greatest sources of love and strength they have ever known. The loss of him leaves an ache that words cannot fully capture, but so does the privilege of having been loved by him.
His memory will live on in every lesson he taught, every laugh he shared, and every life he touched so deeply.
As per Bob's request, there will be no service. Cheers Bob with a glass of rum or by smoking a big fatty.
Forever loved, forever missed.
