Ruby Elaine Goertzen

It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of Ruby Elaine (Stewart) Goertzen. Ruby was born in Elk Point, Alberta on April 6th, 1945 and passed away in Fairview January 7th, 2021.

Ruby was a long-time resident of Fairview. She had Ruby’s Variety Shop in the mall and was known as the lady that owned the mall, (even though she did not).  Ruby was a very hard-working lady and worked up to the time of her passing. She was loved by the community and will be deeply missed by family and friends.

Ruby leaves to morn her husband Neal Goertzen, daughter Lovina and son Neal Jr. and 5 grandchildren.  Her sisters Vicki, Eyvonne, Mackie (Norman), Sheila, and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son Brian, parents Art and Lovina Stewart, her brothers, Roy, Charlie, and Ray, sisters, Evelyn, and Daisy.

At Ruby’s request there will be no service.  As an expression of sympathy donations can be made in Ruby’s memory to the Fairview Food Bank.
