Samantha Lee (Shaw) Guichon

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness we announce the sudden passing of Samantha Lee Guichon (Shaw) on October 3rd, 2025. Sam passed doing what she loved best in the beautiful Peace Country out with hers and Chancey's cows. Samantha always arrived to anything with a big smile adorning her face (especially if it was to put in some work), and generously shared her bright light within her with everyone she met and knew. She is going to leave a huge hole in the hearts of everyone she has left behind.

Samantha started nursing at Strathmore District Health Services and then continued her career at the Fairview Health Complex. In her time working in both Acute Care and the ER, she left a huge impact on both patients and staff alike. Sam loved nursing and caring for others and it came through in everything that she did. When she wasn’t at the hospital, you would find her out ranching (or doing "cow things" as she'd say), and of course fitting in time to work her horses and new colts. Sam loved working with her Dad out on his ranch and had many fond memories from growing up there and learning about the lifestyle that she loved. She and Chancey were on the road of building their "cow/calf empire" and Sam had so much passion and excitement for the days spent putting hours in for their future life. Sam was taken from us far too soon and we are going to miss her very deeply.

She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Chancey Guichon, who she married on July 26th 2025; her father Garth Shaw; her mother Rhonda Shaw; her brother Joseph Shaw; her sister Carly Shaw; her brother in-law Carter Bjorklund; her father and mother-in-law Gary and Kathy Guichon; her sisters-in-law Chanel and Karly Guichon; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Sam’s funeral will be held on October 17th, 2025 at the E.E. Oliver Gymnasium at 2:00 p.m., and her family would appreciate your attendance in honouring Samantha. Click here to watch the Funeral service video.
