Verna Lee

It is with heavy hearts we announce the unexpected passing of Verna Elaine Lee on May 25th, 2024, in Grande Prairie, Albert at the age of 83.

Verna was born to Merlin and Vera Seabrook, at Arborfield, Saskatchewan, on September 1st, 1940. Out of eleven children, she was the seventh born.  They lived in Arborfield until 1946 when they moved the family to Hythe. Verna married Murray Lee on September 22nd, 1958, in Hythe Alberta. They had three children Roger, Brenda and Wayne.

Murray and Verna moved to Cleardale to farm and raise their family.  

In the early days in Cleardale, neighbor ladies liked going into town with Verna because if their vehicle were to have trouble, they knew Verna would be able to fix it. Around the farm as well, Verna was very handy when it came to fixing equipment, driving tractors and gardening. They farmed together as a family until Murray’s passing in 1986. Verna continued to farm with Roger up until 1998, when she moved into Fairview, Alberta where she resided until her passing.  

Verna loved her flowers and gardening. She always had the most beautiful flower bed alongside her house, her green thumb was very evident. Her peonies were outstanding and brought her great joy.  She was also very talented with her crafting and was very particular. She could accomplish any task she set her mind to, and a very independent individual.

Verna’s pride and joy were her grand children and great grandchildren.

Verna is survived by,

Her children; Roger (Miladys) Lee, Brenda (Ron) Craig, Wayne (Judy) Lee.  

Grandchildren; Logan (Natasha) Lee, Cody Craig, Jordan Lee, Kristi (Ryley) Gillett, Colter (Nikki) Lee, Brittany (Brett) Mauthe, Jocelyn (Bryce) Duley, Kristin Lee.  

Great Grandchildren; Addison Lee, William Craig-Torres, Kaisen Gillett, Lochlyn Lee, Everett Mauthe, Kash Lee, Avery Mauthe, Weslyn Lee, Stevie Lee.

Siblings; Eileen (John) Gouschuk, Garth (Veda) Seabrook, Lana (Albert) Speck, Gordon (Betty) Seabrook, Sandra (Gerald) Reber.

Verna was predeceased by:

Her husband; Murray Lee

Her parents; Merlin and Vera Seabrook

Siblings; Keith Seabrook, Doreen Larson, Zena Wilson, Glen Seabrook and Alan Seabrook

We will miss you immensely, and forever keep memories of you in our hearts.

A private service will be held for the family.
