It is with sadness we announce the passing of Violet Anderson (née Shipley). Vi was born on January 31, 1944, to Orren and LauWella Shipley, the seventh of eight children. On April 20, 1963, Vi married the love of her life, Lawrence Anderson, in Cardston, Alberta. Together, they built a beautiful life on their farm in Worsley, where they raised their four beloved children: Wanda (John), Karl (Shannon), Lee (Becky), and Barb (Troy).
Vi’s legacy extends through her cherished grandchildren—Jessica, Nicole (Jason), Hunter (Mason), Owen, Mercedes, Kristi (Chris), and Riley (Cassie)—and her great-grandchildren Raynna, Jack, Tyren (Kylie), Hunter, Daxten, and Kohen. Her love and warmth will forever be remembered by all who knew her.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the nurses, doctors, and support staff on Unit 22 of the Grande Prairie Regional Hospital for the exceptional care and compassion they provided to our mom in these past months. Your kindness and dedication were truly appreciated.
In honor of Vi's life, donations may be made to the Kidney Foundation or the University of Alberta's Mazankowski Alberta Heart Institute.
A funeral service to celebrate Vi's life will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, September 7, 2024, at Peace Valley Funeral Home, located at 11130 101 Avenue, Fairview. For those unable to attend, click here for the livestream link. Interment will follow at the Worsley Cemetery.
