Walter Petrowich of Hines Creek passed away on May 3, 2021 at the Fairview Hospital at the age of 81 years.
Walter was born August 6, 1939 in the home of his parents William and Maria in the community of Peace Grove, Alberta.
Growing up, Walter attended Royce school and finishing his education in Hines Creek. He later pursued his electrical trade in Calgary.
Walter married Geraldine Syrnyk August 16, 1962 and resided in the house he built in Hines Creek. Together raising two daughters, Noreen and Marlene.
Walter wore many hats, loving husband, father, grandfather, electrician, farmer, and log truck driver. Walter’s greatest joy was being a farmer, and this was his ultimate passion. He became a mentor for all of us and passed on his valuable knowledge. He was never one to procrastinate and leave it for tomorrow. He was famous for his never quit work ethic. Walter and Gerri were fortunate to travel and see a lot of the world. Whether it be flying, driving or camping, memories were cherished.
Walter leaves his wife Geraldine of 58 years, daughter Noreen (Bruce), Marlene (John), grandchildren Brayden, Nicole, Andrew, Mitchell, and his oldest brother John, sister in-law Janet, brother in-law Nester (Sharon) as well as wonderful nieces, nephews and their children.
He is predeceased by his parents William and Maria, brothers Andrew and Steve.
A funeral mass held on May 10th, in accordance with Covid guidelines. The family wishes to thank all wonderful relatives, friends, and acquaintances who have touched Walter during his stay on earth.
